About

Bernardo PiresHi! My name is Bernardo Pires and I’m a Brazilian student getting my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at the German university Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.

I’m very interested in web development and I’m pretty convinced that most, if not all, desktop applications will eventually move into the web.

My hobbies are learning languages, travelling and playing the piano, even though I suck at it. I’m trying to pick up a new hobby, astronomy, but I’m still a beginner and the cloudy German weather doesn’t help much. I can recognize the constellations Cassiopeia (very prominent in Autumn on the northern hemisphere), Ursa Major (contains the famous Big Dipper, pretty much always visible), and Orion. I’ve also learned how to use the North Star, Polaris, to find north.

Here’s a pretty picture of my recent travel to the Baleriac Islands, Mallorca in September, 2013.
